> the worst thing i did for myself over the past few years is read docs, papers etc because my need to understand how things work implies losing the ability to feel and get lost in that magic If this continues to propagate as „the way to make money in crypto,“ then you have your answers as to why Kiwi News isn‘t doing well. I‘m actually the type of guy that „reads the docs and the papers,“ because I‘ve learned that this is what ends up making me money and because, for a decade, I have learned that investing based on feelings always ends up in me losing money. The memecoinsters now want us to believe that reading the papers and the docs is actually harmful because you lose the feeling of desire. Is that true? I knew really well that I wanted Farcaster‘s architecture to win. And I understand it deeply. A lot of the crypto tech I use, I have priorly researched it to understand if it‘s safe to use. I agree that being able to trade according to feeling desire is a nice skill. But I get an overwhelming feeling of magic when I use my Gnosis Pay, when I use crypto social media, when I use Rainbow, when I can borrow USDC with my ETH. That stuff is absolutely amazing and I know also why it works. Feeling magical desire and understanding stuff aren‘t mutually exclusive and there is a lot of beauty in things that work really well, but that are designed elegantly. The Bitcoin whitepaper is beautiful. People in AI say the „Attention is all you need“ paper is beautiful and a magical read. The sad thing about humanity in 2024 is that some people are just so lost, or brainwashed, or whatever, they‘ve genuinely lost an understanding of what is truly beautiful. Deutsch has even an argument for why flowers are objectively beautiful. I think a lot of brainwashing has happened that makes people believe that beauty doesn‘t exist. Maybe people and numbed down with meds or drugs, or they‘re in bad places. But beauty is real!!!
